Essential Somatics® Policies

As of January 8, 2023

Cancellation and Refund Policy

All refunds will be made via the original payment method. Administrative fees will not be refunded. All refunds will be issued within 30 days of receipt of written notice of cancellation.

Online Products and Services

Video Lessons, online classes and workshops, online private sessions and consultations are nonrefundable. Online private sessions or video consultations may be rescheduled when more than 24hrs notice is given.

In Person Courses and Retreats (excluding Training Programs – see below)

A full refund, minus a $50 cancellation fee per participant, will be issued if cancellation is requested within 4 weeks of submitting payment, and is more than 4 weeks prior to the start date of an Essential Somatics® event. Cancellations after 4 weeks following payment are not possible and no refund will be given. However, it is allowed to transfer the place to someone else in the event of illness or unavailability of the original participant.

These conditions are necessary because we plan and schedule the logistics of each event, in part, based on the total number of student registrations several months before the event takes place.

Covid-19 & in-person events

UPDATED JUNE 1, 2022

As of June 1, 2022, all participants and staff at an Essential Somatics® in-person event (i.e. retreat, training, or workshop) are strongly encouraged, but not required, to be vaccinated and/or to take a PCR or lateral flow test before and during an Essential Somatics event. Regional guidelines and venue policies regarding Covid safety will also be observed; participants at in-person events will be notified of any additional safety measures prior to the start of an event.

As a company that brings people together for group learning, Essential Somatics is committed to providing a safe environment for our program participants and teachers. This policy safeguards the health of our families, our healthcare workers and first responders, our students, and the community at large, and is based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization.

Training Program Policies

Five-Day Cancellation: An applicant who provides written notice of cancellation within five (5) days (excluding Saturday, Sunday and federal or state holidays) of paying the initial deposit or tuition payment in full is entitled to a refund of all monies paid minus any credit card fees.

Denial of Enrollment: If an applicant is denied enrollment, 100% of all student fees and tuition paid will be returned within 30 days of denial.

Procedure for withdrawal: A student choosing to withdraw from the program after the commencement of classes is to provide written notice via email to the Program Director. The receipt date of the written request to withdraw will be considered the withdrawal date.

A student will be automatically withdrawn if s/he has missed one in-person or online class and does not notify staff within 24hrs of the class date. In this case, the withdrawal date will be the date of the missed class.

Rescheduling Policy: Essential Somatics reserves the right to cancel a starting class if the number of trainees enrolling is deemed insufficient. In the event of such cancellation, a full refund (minus credit card fees) of all money paid shall be made to each applicant.

Essential Somatics reserves the right to suspend or postpone an in person module of the training in the event of unforeseeable circumstances or in the event of an occurrence that unavoidably limits the use of the training facilities such as fire, flood, storm, war, or civil disorder. Such time lost will be made up as soon as possible so as to maintain the overall training schedule.
