Claudine Martin, CCSE has studied, practiced and taught yoga for over 20 years, attracted initially by the idea of helping her recover from a sports injury. Although yoga helped on many levels, the ongoing hip pain worsened over time and became chronic. Walking and sitting for any length of time was difficult.
She spent fifteen years trying different practitioners and treatments, which only ever gave temporary relief. Claudine learned about Clinical Somatics in 2014, which was a real light bulb moment; it felt that finally there was a common sense explanation for the dysfunction and pain. After initial relief from clinical sessions and a regular somatic movement practice, it took time, patience and introspection to make the changes necessary to become pain-free.
She knew instinctively that this work was too important not to share and completed the 3-year Clinical Somatic Education training program with Essential Somatics in 2022.
Claudine is an advocate for self-care and is passionate about helping others become self-regulating. She is based in Bagshot, Surrey, where she teaches workshops, masterclasses and works clinically with clients. She also runs online coaching programs.
