Darlene Diminutto BSc, RMT, ESCE, CCSE has been working in the field of movement for years. In her early life, she was an NCCP swim coach. She worked with children and adults in a competitive environment. She followed the recommendations of the Long-Term Athlete Development program incorporating physical literacy movement preparations throughout her practices to ensure the full development of each of her swimmers and avoid injuries. Darlene has been teaching yoga to youths and adults for over 20 years to improve balance, flexibility and strength. Darlene has been a massage therapist for over 20 years specializing in fascial release therapies including CranioSacral Therapy.
Darlene works privately with clients to kickstart or deepen their own somatic experience using Clinical Somatic sessions. Clinical sessions are a wonderful way to begin an exploration of somatic movement. The sessions allow the client to discover and learn their own pattern with the help of the educator.
Darlene also teaches a variety of movement classes. Some classes are taught as purely Somatic Movement while other classes are a weave of Yoga and Somatic Movement. Somatic Classes are constructed based on the movements taught in the clinical sessions. Once a movement has been learnt you cannot undo the learning. It is remembering that is difficult. Classes help us to remember what we have learnt thus giving us the power to find freedom and ease in our lives daily.
Darlene is based in Calgary, Alberta.
