Jan Berson specializes in teaching people easy-to-do techniques that have powerful benefits for restoring quality of life and improving ease of movement. She is an Essential Somatics Movement Teacher who learned twenty years ago that improving the quality of our movements improves the quality of our life. Since that time, Jan has pursued relief from her post-polio symptoms of pain and instability by studying and teaching self-care movement techniques such as Pilates, Yoga Tune-Up® and the MELT Method®. Essential Somatics has delivered a level of comfort and function for Jan—and her clients—that has been life-changing.
Jan is located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago where she offers both in-person and online classes to individuals and small groups. Jan is passionate about helping her clients find new levels of comfort and function in their body, regardless of where they are starting. Jan also values the fact that she is teaching her students to take care of themselves, encouraging each student to experience the power of their own sensory awareness.
